Afghan Journalists and Media Support Organization Meets with the Provincial Head of Communications and Information Technology and ATRA Representative
Abdul Qadoos Shams, the Provincial Representative of the Afghan Journalists and Media Support Organization (AJMSO), accompanied by representatives of Shokla, Badloon, and Zala FM Radio Stations in Kunar Province, held a joint meeting with the Provincial Head of the Department of Communications and Information Technology and the provincial representative of the Afghanistan Telecom Regulatory Authority (ATRA) to discuss the installation of Band Pass Filters for FM radio stations.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Shams provided a comprehensive overview of the issue. Subsequently, the media representatives shared their economic challenges and concerns. They noted that Kunar is a remote border province without an airport and has only a limited number of FM radio stations. Therefore, they requested that the unique circumstances of Kunar Province and the financial difficulties faced by local media outlets be taken into consideration during the implementation of the Band Pass Filter installation process.
The Provincial Head of the Department of Communications and Information Technology listened to the concerns and requests of the media representatives, assured them of his cooperation, and stated that the issues and requests raised by Kunar’s media outlets would be communicated to the central authorities. He further emphasized that, in addition to pursuing a solution to this matter, efforts would also be made to provide further support and assistance in other areas aimed at strengthening and supporting the media sector.
