Meeting with Journalists in Shajoy district and Assessment of the Local Media Situation

Hedayatullah Nikzad, the provincial representative of the Afghan Journalists and Media Support Organization (AJMSO) in Zabul, travelled to Shajoy district accompanied by a number of journalists and met with local journalists, as well as the management and staff of Surghar Radio.

The meeting focused on assessing the media situation in Shajoy and discussing Surghar Radio’s broadcasting activities, the working environment for local media, and the coverage of local issues and events. The views and concerns of local journalists and media professionals were also heard during the meeting.

Hazratullah Zahid, head of Information and Culture in Shajoy district, also attended the meeting.

Participants discussed ways to strengthen coordination among journalists and media outlets, support local media, expand media activities, and address the challenges and needs faced by journalists in the district.

Hedayatullah Nikzad said that AJMSO is committed to maintaining close engagement with journalists and media outlets in order to better understand their challenges and needs and to help create opportunities for greater cooperation and stronger media activities in Shajoy district.

The management of Surghar Radio appreciated AJMSO’s efforts to support journalists and media outlets and emphasized the importance of continued cooperation and stronger coordination among local media, journalists, and relevant authorities.
