The Afghan Journalists and Media Support Organization (AJMSO) is deeply saddened by the passing of Sofia Mohammadzai, a former journalist with Salam Watandar Radio, who passed away last night after a long and difficult battle with cancer.
إنا لله وإنا إلیه راجعون
Sofia had been living with cancer for the past several years. Despite her long and courageous struggle with the illness, she sadly passed away last night.
Her passing is a profound loss to Afghanistan’s media community. AJMSO extends its heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, former colleagues and all those who knew and cared for her.
We pray that Almighty Allah grants Sofia His mercy, forgives her, and blesses her with Jannatul Firdaus.
