Meeting of the Head of the Afghan Journalists and Media Support Organization with Laghman Provincial Authorities; Emphasis on Addressing Challenges and Strengthening Media

As part of ongoing efforts to improve the media landscape and support journalists across the provinces, Abdul Qadeem Wyar, Head of the Afghan Journalists and Media Support Organization (AJMSO), met and held discussions with local government authorities and media representatives in Laghman Province.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Governor of Laghman, the Director of Information and Culture, and a number of local media representatives and stakeholders. During the session, the overall situation of media in Laghman was comprehensively reviewed, and participants shared their challenges and recommendations.
Media officials and journalists raised their key concerns and professional challenges in the presence of government authorities, emphasizing the need to address the economic difficulties faced by media outlets, improve access to information, support media activities, and create an enabling environment for journalism.
In response, local authorities expressed their readiness to cooperate and highlighted the important role of media in public awareness and the promotion of transparency.
During the meeting, Abdul Qadeem Wyar listened to the views and concerns of journalists and reaffirmed AJMSO’s commitment to supporting media, assisting journalists, and enhancing their professional capacities.
He also stressed the importance of strengthening coordination between media and government institutions, noting that such meetings are essential for building mutual understanding, addressing challenges, and improving collaboration between journalists and relevant authorities.
