Statement of the Afghan Journalists and Media Support Organization (AJMSO) on the Occasion of February 13 – World Radio Day
On the occasion of World Radio Day, which is celebrated annually on February 13,the Afghan Journalists and Media Support Organization (AJMSO) extends its sincere congratulations to all journalists, media workers, presenters, technicians, and loyal radio listeners.
Radio, as one of the most accessible and influential media platforms, plays a fundamental role in information dissemination, public awareness, strengthening social cohesion, and promoting a culture of mutual respect and acceptance. In difficult circumstances and times of crisis, radio has consistently remained the voice of the people and a reliable bridge connecting diverse communities.
AJMSO firmly believes that strengthening freedom of expression, supporting independent media, and ensuring public access to information are essential pillars of sustainable development and an informed society. We call upon all relevant institutions to take practical and effective measures to support journalists and ensure their professional safety and security.
On this auspicious day, we once again renew our commitment to supporting responsible and dedicated media and express our deep appreciation for the tireless efforts of all those working in the field of radio.
Respectfully,
Afghan Journalists and Media Support Organization (AJMSO)
February 13
