Visit to Local Media Outlets in Paktia Province

The provincial representative of the Afghan Journalists and Media Support Organization (AJMSO), together with officials from the Directorate of Information and Culture of Paktia Province, visited several local radio stations in the province.

During the visit, Mawlawi Faizullah Johari, Director of Information and Culture in Paktia, stated that strong coordination has now been established between local authorities and media outlets. He emphasized that provincial officials fully support the media and acknowledged the important role media organizations play in delivering accurate and reliable information to the public.

Representatives of the local radio stations shared information regarding their broadcasts, ongoing activities, and existing challenges. They also called for greater support to improve the economic sustainability of radio outlets. The participants stressed that media-support organizations should intensify efforts in the areas of capacity building and strengthening the financial stability of media institutions.

Asil Zazai, the provincial representative of AJMSO, praised the efforts of local radio stations in providing timely information to communities. He noted that significant efforts have already been made to strengthen media institutions; however, further work is still needed to enhance professional capacity and improve the economic resilience of media outlets.

The Afghan Journalists and Media Support Organization continues its efforts to foster stronger coordination between media organizations and relevant authorities across the country, while supporting journalists and media outlets to operate in a safer and more professional environment.
